Who is a A Servant Heart?

Who are we?

The idea to have a LOVE WALK to benefit HAND OF HOPE was inspired by a group of volunteers at the February 2010 Joyce Meyer Ministry Conference at Phoenix First Assembly Church We were all moved emotionally after watching the Hand of Hope nine minute video (on the HOME page of this site).

After watching the video and discussing how much Joyce Meyer and her ministry had changed our lives, we wanted to give back.  Since Joyce talks about walking in love and how important it is to God to love our neighbors, it just made perfect sense to have a charity "walk" to support their cause.  A Servant Heart was founded by Barb Kenney and Darla Gonzalez.  We wanted to collaborate and advocate any ministry or organization who needed help raising awareness or funds for worthwhile causes.

Together we decided we had to do SOMETHING This is the spark that led to the first LOVE WALK at the Phoenix Zoo on January 22, 2011.

A Servant Heart's mission is to be an advocate for non-profit individuals who are fighting the social injustices both locally and globally.  Joining partnership with these organizations are transformational for the partners in addition to the cause they are fighting.

We are better together!

A Servant Heart is made up of four Executive Board members:

Charles Gonzalez                        Darla Gonzalez

Rhonda Hilton-Shore                  Martha Llamas

Each one of us is 100% committed to make sure 100% of the proceeds of our events go to the organization desiginated.  All expenses associated with events are paid for by our wonderful sponsors!

Who do we partner with?

A Servant Heart collaborates and raises awareness and/or funds for and with many organizations.  The following are just a few of our favorites.  Their Executive Directors, staff and volunteers of these organizations are passionate about making a difference in the world...we embrace the passion and refuse to do nothing - all to the glory of God!

Together we are better!

Hand of Hope World Missions

Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Our goal is simply to help as many hurting people as we possibly can, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith. It's not about what we can do on our own. It's about what we can all do together to reach the world and share the love of Christ-making a difference in people's lives.

Chaplaincy for the Homeless

Since 1988, the Chaplaincy for the Homeless has specialized in helping homeless people obtain the identification and documents they need to work, rent, and get assistance. Without this identification, the homeless are unable to escape life on the street and rejoin society as productive, self-respecting contributors.
